Miranda Hart has been honest about her emotional temperament, disclosing that her husband Richard Fairs regularly catches her “having a weep” at the kitchen table.
The 52-year-old TV actor admits to breaking “pretty almost every day,” which first bothered Richard until he grew used to it.
Miranda says she is a “highly sensitive person,” a quality she thinks she acquired from her father, David Hart Dyke, and one her mother, Diana Luce, found challenging to understand. Leicestershire Live reports.
Miranda revealed on the Therapy Works podcast: “I have a cry pretty much everyday, definitely every other day, generally a weep of joy but sometimes my husband will find me just sitting at the kitchen table and he’s become used to it now. Usually he would dash like “oh my gosh, are you alright?” but I’m just letting things go; I’m totally fine; it will be finished in five minutes.”
She said, “Now he just comes in ‘hi’ and the tears are streaming down. He doesn’t bat an eyelid. But my mother never understood that.”

Miranda is recognized for her major role in the BBC sitcom Miranda and has participated in other successful TV programs including Call The Midwife and The Vicar of Dibley.
Miranda and Richard married in secret in 2023, three years after their romance began. However, the celebrity confirmed the marriage in her book I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest With You.
During an appearance on The One Show, the actress and comedian shared: “I’m married, I got married at 51 and it’s just so amazing. I’d written Gary for onscreen Miranda and it wasn’t until I was 49 that I met my person. He’s my greatest buddy, we had the best time and I’m absolutely pleased to be a young wife at 51.”
Miranda will be appearing on Michael McIntyre’s Big Show on BBC One at 6.50pm tonight. She will perform alongside darts superstar Luke Littler and M People vocalist Heather Small.
