TV star Miranda Hart has amazed fans by revealing that she secretly married building company owner Richard Fairs in a private ceremony last July.
Miranda, who gained fame in the mid-2000s with her hilarious BBC sitcom Miranda, has since become one of the UK’s beloved comedy stars. From Call the Midwife to Hollywood films, the 57-year-old is a constant presence on screens.
Last year, she supported her co-star Sarah Hadland, who reached the final of Strictly Come Dancing with her dance partner Vito Coppola, even sharing some dance tips.
However, Miranda’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. She recently opened up about her battle with Lyme disease in her memoir, Miranda Hart: I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest with You.

The comedian tied the knot in a quiet ceremony last July. She first met her husband during lockdown when she hired him to deal with mould in her West London home. What began as a professional connection quickly turned into romance. Miranda fondly referred to him as “the mould man,” recalling how their first date involved hours of conversation over pizza in her living room.
At the Cheltenham Literature Festival, she revealed the identity of her new husband and shared memories from the early days of their relationship. She said, “Unfortunately, my pizza had slid into a calzone. I went on and on about my pizza, but it didn’t bother him. By that point, we’d been talking for about two hours, and I immediately realized I was in love with him.”
