At a recent press conference, Kansas City Chiefs Senior Director of Player Personnel Mike Bradway discussed third-round draft pick Ashton Gillotte, highlighting his ability to disrupt quarterbacks with consistent pressure rather than just focusing on sack totals.
“The pressure stats can sometimes be more telling than sacks,” Bradway noted. “When you watch the film, his presence is obvious — the way he moves and stays active. Also, he dropped some weight before his Pro Day, which really stood out. His explosiveness and athleticism resembled that of a linebacker, which confirmed for us how physically gifted he is.”
Gillotte, who previously played for Louisville, has already established a connection with current Chiefs defensive end George Karlaftis. Pairing them alongside Chris Jones and Charles Omenihu gives defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo a dynamic pass-rushing group.
Over four seasons at Louisville, Gillotte played in 51 games, tallying 131 total tackles (73 solo), 40.5 tackles for loss, 26.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.
