The current NFL Offensive Player of the Year wrapped up a historic first season with the Eagles by defeating the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on his 28th birthday during Super Bowl Sunday, February 9.
His new contract, which extends through 2028, includes $36 million in guaranteed money, plus up to $15 million in incentives, according to reports. The guaranteed sum is the highest for a running back on a contract of three years or fewer, based on Over The Cap’s data.
Previously, Barkley was earning around $12.6 million annually under a three-year deal he signed with Philadelphia as a free agent last offseason, valued at $37.75 million. That contract included $26 million in guaranteed money and additional incentives.

Barkley, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, was named a first-team All-Pro in 2024 after leading the league with 345 carries for 2,005 yards and an average of 125.3 yards per game, while scoring 13 touchdowns in 16 regular-season games (all starts). He also recorded 33 receptions for 278 yards and two touchdowns.
In the playoffs, he rushed 91 more times for 499 yards and five touchdowns across four games, setting a single-season record with 2,504 yards, surpassing Terrell Davis.
Throughout his career, Barkley has rushed 1,546 times for 7,216 yards and 48 touchdowns, and caught 321 passes for 2,378 yards and 14 touchdowns in 90 regular-season games (all starts) for the New York Giants (2018-23) and the Eagles.
