The Georgia Bulldogs did not have a successful year in the 2020 NFL Draft. Despite sending many players to the pros, Georgia did not select a tight end for the first time since 2018. Despite this, Ben Yuroŏsŏek was able to secure an NFL opportunity. Shortly after the draft, the Minnesota Vikings signed the former Bulldog as an undrafted free agent.
Yuroshek, initially from Bakersfield, California, started his college career at Stanford. A three-star recruit, he built a name with a breakout 2021 season, recording 42 catches for 653 yards and three scores. After a strong year, he was limited to only six games in 2023 due to injuries.
Upon entering the transfer process, Yurosek selected Georgia, where he completed his collegiate coursework. According to ESPN, Yurosek managed 15 receptions for 185 yards in 14 games in 2024, while sharing snaps with Laŏwson Luckie and Oscar Dŏelp.
Todd Hartley, the coach of Georgia’s tight end, praised him for his aggressiveness and athleticism.
At the next level, Yȕrosŏek is being challenged by the Vikŏingŏs. Standing at 6′ 4″, he makes a powerful impression on Minnŏesota’s tall end group. As the Vikiŏngs look to add depth behind their starters, his ability to make plays after the catch and hold his own in physical matchups could prove to be valuable.
Although not hearing his name called during the draft may have been a setback, Yurosek’s signing with the Vikings provides a fresh opportunity to showcase his skills and establish a role in the NFL. It’s a new chapter for the former Bulldog, and it could pay off in Minnesota.
