Nebraska football continues through spring workouts, while also looking ahead by hosting recruiters on campus.
Albert Simien, a four-star offensive lineman, was among the recent visitors. The 6-foot-5, 260-pound prospect plays for Sam Houston in Lake Charles, Louisiana. According to Rivals, he is the nation’s best interior offensive lineman and the overall No. 51 talent in the 2027 class.
Simien has offers from Nebraska, Alabama, Houston, LSU, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and others. He hooked up with HuskerMax after his visit to Lincoln.
“I had a great time in Lincoln,” Simien stated. “My family and I had a tour of the city, and everything was solid. It was really a welcoming environment. The Haymarket neighborhood was busy and full of energy, with fantastic eateries, and my family liked snapping pictures there. The folks of Lincoln were really friendly. They proudly welcomed me as a Husker recruit”.”
When the brilliant offensive lineman visited Lincoln, everything felt genuine and heartwarming, even when he was merely shopping for himself and his family.
“I enjoyed every aspect of my visit, from our dining experience at Lila Mae’s to shopping at Best of Big Red for souvenirs for my family,” Simien told me. “The atmosphere and community felt welcoming and down-to-earth, which really stood out to me.”
This visit was extremely beneficial to the Nebraska program because it confirmed the Cornhuskers’ presence on his radar.
“This visit has definitely put Nebraska on my radar.” Seeing the culture firsthand, the program’s strong foundation, and how they invest in their players’ growth and overall well-being helped me imagine what it would be like to be a member of their team,” Simien said.
The coaching staff as a whole was excellent to the gifted prospect. This includes Donovan Raiola, Nebraska’s offensive line coach.
“The coaching staff was excellent.” Everyone took the time to communicate, and I enjoyed it,” Simien remarked. “I’m especially thankful for Coach Raiola giving me solid advice and breaking down where I could fit into their program, as well as what my development would look like if I were to commit there.”
Simien believes he is a priority as a result of this visit, which the coaches expressed to him directly.
“Yes, I feel like a priority. “There was a lot of communication with my coaches, and the time they spent with me and my family demonstrated that,” Simien stated.
Simien hopes to return to the Nebraska program.
“I’d love to return and continue to develop my relationship with the staff and players. “I definitely plan to return as soon as time allows,” Simien stated.
The outstanding prospect has no definite decision date, but intends to remain where he is once he commits.
“Right now, as a sophomore, I am taking my time with the process. I want to examine all of my alternatives and find the greatest fit for me. “Once I commit, I’m all in, ready to win championships,” Simien stated.
