On Sunday, Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic stunned fans with an incredible pass against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
With 5:51 left in the second quarter, Doncic drove to the hoop while being covered by Isaiah Hartenstein and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. As the Slovenian star leaped for a shot, he unexpectedly tossed a behind-the-head pass to Gabe Vincent, who was waiting in the area behind the 3-point line.
Vincent then drained a 3-pointer, giving the Lakers a 64-42 lead.
On Instagram, the Lakers uploaded a post containing videos of Doncic’s incredible play from several perspectives, including one in slow motion. Sure enough, the post sparked a lot of reactions.
“The best defense in the NBA is being ripped apart by the Slovenian Wonder Boy,” one commentator commented. Another stated, “Mavs traded away Pistol Pete reincarnated.”
“I call that the 777 connection,” an admirer added.
“Magic luka,” a follower wrote.
“Luka is a magician player who plays with his mind with great imagination,” a social media user wrote.
“LUKA LUKA,” a poster read.
“I still can’t believe we have Luka,” a seventh Lakers fan wrote.
Luka Doncic ended the game with 30 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals. He also made five of his 11 3-point tries, helping the Lakers set a franchise record for most threes in a single game.
Doncic has continued to impress since joining the Lakers from the Dallas Mavericks shortly before the trade deadline. With his scoring and playmaking powering Los Angeles’ title ambitions this season, fans will have plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks.
