The Green Bay Packers concluded the 2024 NFL regular season as one of the league’s high-scoring teams. However, the Packers’ lack of a clear No. 1 threat downfield remains a concern for the NFC North division franchise.
That’s despite Green Bay’s outstanding wideouts, which include Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks. Not to mention the recent arrival of Mecole Hardman, a former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver.
Perhaps the Packers can unload one of those weapons this offseason to come closer to finding a true WR1 — or at least add to their assets, as Bradley Locker proposes in a Pro Football Focus article.
Locker believes that, while Watson may be an appealing trade target among Packers receivers, the wideout’s catastrophic knee injury in the 2024 season reduces his market worth. This brings Locker to Doubs, who he believes has greater potential as a trade asset.
“The bottom line is that Green Bay probably will not re-sign both Watson and Doubs next offseason, and the latter could net more capital right now,” said Locker.
