The 2025 NFL Draft is barely over a month away. While the Minnesota Vikings don’t have many picks this year, general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah can’t be counted out for some draft weekend pyrotechnics.
Some target positions are definitely in play for the Vikings next month, particularly on the inside of the offensive and defensive lines. Last week, the Star Tribune’s Ben Goessling indicated that the Vikings have made Oregon DT Derrick Harmon a top draft target.

The Minnesota Vikings also have issues in the secondary and wide receiver, so they will look to the draft for help in those areas. On Sunday, Goessling turned to Twitter to report on another draft candidate worth keeping an eye on: Baylor Bears wide receiver Monaray Baldwin.
Monaray Baldwin played four seasons at Baylor, totaling 99 receptions for 1,673 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also carried (or received passes behind the line of scrimmage) 19 times for 178 yards and two touchdowns. Baldwin’s greatest season came in 2023 as a junior, when he caught 38 passes for 623 yards and four touchdowns.
Watching some of his highlight highlights as a Baylor Bear reveals that the Minnesota Vikings appear to be seeking for a specific style of wide receiver to join Kevin O’Connell’s offense. Baldwin, a 5’9″ speedster with a 4.32 40 at the Big 12 Pro Day, is similar to the recently signed free agent Rondale Moore.
Minnesota Vikings’ Priority Draft Target Revealed
Following his strong performance, the Killeen, Texas native spoke with Vikings executives on-site at Big 12 Pro Day. Monaray Baldwin would provide Kevin O’Connell’s offense with a level of shiftiness and elusiveness that they have not had on the squad since the current regime took over.
The Vikings have a current and future need for a wide receiver. Jordan Addison, a 23-year-old entering his third season, has proven to be a viable first-round choice in 2022. Unfortunately, he is going to miss three games this season due to an expected ban following his DUI conviction last summer.
Looking ahead, there is basically no chance that the Minnesota Vikings will try to extend Jordan Addison’s rookie contract when it expires in the coming years. Not when they pay Justin Jefferson $35 million per season. Thus, while wide receiver may not appear to be a major priority on the surface, it has become evident that it is a key position this summer.

The 24-year-old former Purdue second-round pick is eager to get fit get his football career back on track after missing the entire 2024 season due to an injury.
