Kyle Busch is one of the top NASCAR drivers of his era, having won two Cup Series championships and the most cumulative wins in the national series history (232). Busch, who is only weeks away from turning 40 and is looking for his first win since the Enjoy Illinois 300 in 2023, honors some of the best drivers on the track today.
Busch has come close to winning several times this season, and he enters Homestead-Miami with 58 laps led, the sixth most in the Cup Series. Having often raced at the front of the pack, competing against some of the top NASCAR drivers more than a decade his junior, a few names have stood out to him.
In an interview with Kevin Harvick for FOX Sports, Busch praised Kyle Larson and William Byron as the top NASCAR drivers.

The numbers obviously support Busch’s conviction in Larson and Byron. According to DriverAverages.com, Byron has the second-best average finishing position (11.8) over the previous 36 races and is tied with Larson for the second-most top five finishes (15). Meanwhile, Larson has the most laps led (1,548) and a 390-lap lead over the second-closest driver (Christopher Bell), and he is tied with Bell for the most Cup Series victories (five) over that 36-race span.
Byron (27 years old) and Larson (32 years old) are also essential to NASCAR’s future, since they are expected to be two of racing’s most prominent figures for the next seven years. Busch’s comments came ahead of Sunday’s race at Homestead-Miami, where Larson (+400) and Buron (+700) are the NASCAR betting favorites.
