Daniel Odom’s commitment to the Oklahoma Sooners came as a surprising and significant development. The wide receiver from the prestigious St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California visited OU and ultimately chose the program over strong competitors like Miami, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington. Despite receiving offers from over 20 schools, Odom decided after his visit to Norman in January, making his announcement a surprising one. His commitment was seen as a major coup for the Sooners, especially given his impressive talent.
Ranked as the No. 239 overall recruit in the 2026 class by the 247Sports Composite Player Rankings, Odom is also considered the No. 40 wide receiver nationally and a top-30 player in California. In the 247Sports Network’s own rankings, Odom is placed as the No. 42 wide receiver in the 2026 class and No. 32 overall in California.
Odom reflected on the emotional journey leading to his decision, saying, “The last few months have been all the emotions you could think of. I’m just blessed, though, to be able to be in the situation I’m in right now. Being able to represent my family and myself. Ultimately, I’m enjoying the process. To be committed to a school is truly a blessing.”
He added, “I sit at home always watching football videos from sunup to sundown. I can really say I dreamed of this. I’m ready, I’m so ready. I can’t wait to go to college, I’m ready to go there right now. I would do it if I had the opportunity to, just because I would be able to turn my dreams into reality. I could make it all come true.”
For Odom, his commitment to the Sooners represents a major milestone in his journey to realizing his football dreams.
