BREAKING NEWS: Class of 2026 CB Jalon copenland has committed to Arkansas Razorbacks

The Arkansas Razorbacks experienced one of the highest player departures to the transfer portal compared to most schools nationwide. This often happens when a team has a rough season while facing high expectations—players seek a fresh start, and that’s understandable.

However, the Razorbacks aren’t letting this affect their recruiting efforts. Those who want to play for Arkansas will, and those who don’t won’t be begged to stay. The team needs players who are committed to their vision, even if it’s unclear at the moment. While it might seem like their goal is to win the Liberty Bowl every year, that’s neither here nor there.

Whatever their approach is, it’s working. They’ve recently secured one of the best players in the country at his position for their 2026 class, which is currently ranked 24th in the nation.

Razorbacks land 2026 recruit Jalon Copeland

Jalon Copeland, a highly ranked cornerback from the 2026 class, plays for Valdosta High School in Georgia. Standing 6’1” and weighing around 175-185 pounds, he has the ideal size and speed for the position. During his junior year, he posted 21 tackles, eight pass deflections, and two interceptions in nine games, showcasing his ability to make plays and shut down receivers. Copeland excels in both press and off-man coverage, with quick feet and great instincts.

A three-star recruit, Copeland has received over 30 scholarship offers from top programs such as Arkansas, Penn State, Louisville, and Michigan State. On Saturday, he committed to Arkansas, citing his appreciation for the coaching staff’s support and feeling at home there. The Razorbacks view him as a player who could contribute immediately.

Coming from a competitive football state like Georgia, Copeland has proven himself against tough competition. He still has room to grow and could rise further in the rankings. As a key addition to Arkansas’ 2026 class, which already has 10 commits, they’re counting on him to bolster their defense.
