According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Chicago Bears are hosting former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Rondale Moore for a free-agent visit on Monday, following his time at the Minnesota Vikings’ facility last week. Rapoport shared the news on X, saying, “FA WR Rondale Moore, who visited the #Vikings last week, is visiting the #Bears today, per me and @MikeGarafolo.” Moore, selected as the 49th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has yet to reach his full potential, recording 135 catches for 1,201 yards and three touchdowns across 33 career games. He also missed the entire 2024 season due to a season-ending knee injury he suffered during his first training camp with the Atlanta Falcons, who acquired him in a trade with the Cardinals for quarterback Desmond Ritter.
Despite these setbacks, Moore’s speed remains a valuable asset, both for the offense and special teams, should the Bears choose to sign him for the 2025 season. During his 2021 Pro Day at Purdue, Moore posted an unofficial 4.29-second 40-yard dash time, ranking him among the NFL’s fastest players. This speed has helped him as both a pass-catcher and ball-carrier on motion plays, and he also excelled as a return specialist with the Cardinals, averaging 8.1 yards on 22 punt returns and 22.4 yards on 13 kick returns. Moore’s quickness played a key role in him earning consensus All-American honors as a true freshman in 2018.
Before making any commitments, the Bears would need to ensure there are no lingering medical concerns from Moore’s knee injury in 2024. If he passes their medical evaluation, they may consider signing him to a one-year, prove-it contract to tap into his untapped potential.
