Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports that the Chicago Bears have extended guard Jonah Jackson’s contract for one year, keeping him with the team through the 2027 season.
The extension also includes $7 million in guaranteed money for next season, which Jackson did not have previously. Based on Garafolo’s update, it appears this extension simply adds one more year to Jackson’s current deal, which had two years remaining, and adds guaranteed money for the upcoming season.
Jackson will earn $17.5 million in 2025.
This deal indicates that the Bears are hopeful Jackson can return to the form he displayed while with the Detroit Lions, where he worked with Ben Johnson. However, it seems the Bears would still have the flexibility to move on from Jackson after 2026 if necessary.
