Cameron Jordan will remain with the New Orleans Saints for the 2025 season, marking his 15th year with the franchise, as he and the team reached a revised contract agreement, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported. Jordan shared the news of his return on social media.
The 35-year-old, an eight-time Pro Bowler, finished the 2024 season with 34 tackles and four sacks, but his contract carried a $20 million cap hit for his age-36 season. Jordan and the Saints found a resolution for him to continue his stellar career in New Orleans.
Known for his community involvement, Jordan was the Saints’ Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominee for the third time in 2024.
Although Jordan had hinted at the possibility of leaving after the team’s home finale loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, he had also stated that he intended to play in 2025, regardless of whether he stayed with the Saints. That won’t be necessary, as he’ll remain in New Orleans with the hope of helping the team bounce back from a disappointing 5-12 season.
Over his 14 seasons, Jordan has earned a place on the Hall of Fame’s All-2010s Team, accumulated six seasons with double-digit sacks, and posted impressive career stats of 233 QB hits, 716 tackles, and 121.5 sacks.
Jordan has appeared in 226 games, missing just two in his career, ranking second in franchise history behind Drew Brees (228). His 121.5 sacks are second only to Hall of Famer Rickey Jackson’s 123. With one more season, Jordan is likely to surpass both records.
He was named All-Pro in 2017 after a career-high 13 sacks, 11 pass breakups, 62 tackles, and a touchdown off an interception. That year marked the beginning of six straight Pro Bowl seasons for Jordan.
Although the Saints didn’t reach the Super Bowl during that period, they enjoyed success, winning the NFC South each year from 2017 to 2020, with Jordan leading the defense and averaging 12 sacks per season.
The Saints haven’t made the playoffs since 2020, but under rookie head coach Kellen Moore, they will now enter a new era with Jordan still in the fold.
