The moves are coming in quickly, as another Minnesota Vikings player has secured a big contract to join a new team.
Safety Camryn Bynum has reportedly agreed to a four-year, $60 million deal with the Indianapolis Colts, according to multiple sources.
Bynum was selected by the Vikings in the fourth round of the 2021 draft after a standout college career at Cal-Berkeley. He started three games as a rookie and went on to start every game for Minnesota over the next three seasons. During his time with the Vikings, Bynum intercepted eight passes and formed a reliable partnership with Harrison Smith in the team’s secondary.
Last season, Bynum gained as much attention for his role as the Vikings’ celebration coordinator as he did for his on-field performance. The Vikings’ defensive celebrations after turnovers were among the best in the league, and while choreographing celebrations wasn’t his primary job, it was a fun recognition of his efforts.
This move leaves a noticeable gap in the Vikings’ defense, especially with the future of Harrison Smith still uncertain. We’ll have to wait and see how Minnesota addresses this need.
