The Detroit Lions have a well-defined season ticket policy that all members must adhere to.
The team regularly reviews the resale activity of its ticket holders. As a result, the team decided not to allow two members to purchase season tickets for the 2025 season.
According to a report by WXYZ-Detroit, Pawel Jan and Tony Stevenson both received emails informing them of the decision.
The email stated, “To maintain the integrity of our tickets and best serve our fans, the Detroit Lions conduct an annual review of member accounts. Our internal review of your account shows resale and/or transfer activity that does not align with personal use of your Detroit Lions tickets. As such, we have decided not to renew your season ticket membership for the 2025 season. Detroit Lions season ticket memberships are revocable licenses, subject to the team’s ticketing policies.”
Both admitted to living outside Michigan and attending games at Ford Field when they were in the area.
“I thought the message was a bit harsh,” Stevenson told WXYZ in a video interview. “Given my history with the team, I thought they might review my case and say, ‘Okay, he had a rough 2024, but we’ll give him another season.'”
Both are disappointed by the decision, and their feelings for the team have significantly lessened. They were long-time supporters, even during difficult seasons.
“I’m not going to start rooting for the Bears or anything,” Stevenson said. “I thought about it, though, which feels strange.”
