Khalil Shakir and the Buffalo Bills have reached an agreement that will keep him in Western New York for several more years. The team has confirmed that Shakir has signed a four-year extension, securing his place with the Bills through the 2029 season.
In 2024, Shakir led the team in targets (100), receptions (76), and receiving yards (821).
While the full details of the extension have not been revealed, the contract is worth $60.2 million with $32 million guaranteed.
Originally drafted by the Bills as a fifth-round pick in 2022, Shakir’s progress serves as a testament to his perseverance, as he recorded just 10 catches in his rookie season before gradually emerging as a key player over the past two years.
Buffalo’s general manager, Brandon Beane, shared his thoughts on the extension at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, stating, “It’s hard to find anyone — fans, players, anyone in the building — who would say anything negative about Khalil and what he’s brought. He’s a true Buffalonian, even though he’s not from Buffalo. He doesn’t say much, just shows up every day. He’s Mr. Dependable, and when the ball is thrown his way, he typically comes through.”
