BREAKING NEWS: Packers head coach Matt LaFleur verdict on proposed trade that reunites Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams

I honestly thought we were done with this.

If the Jets showed us anything this year, it’s that building an offense around Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams probably isn’t the right move, right? Am I losing it here? Didn’t they lose 12 games?! Why is anyone looking at the Jets and thinking they were onto something?

These are the questions I would love to ask Bleacher Report calmly. They’re at it again, serving up some of the craziest trade proposals you’ll see all offseason in their latest list of “7 NFL Trades That Would Shake Up Free Agency, Draft Projections.” While most of these ideas don’t bother me too much, one of them is so outrageous, it feels like a personal attack on Packers fans. And even if it’s not meant that way, I’m definitely taking it that way.

The proposal goes: “If the Rams trade Stafford, they could temporarily fix their position and strengthen their offense by trading a second-round pick from the Steelers’ deal to get Rodgers and Adams. ESPN’s Adam Schefter says Rodgers would be ‘thrilled’ to play with the Rams if they don’t work out a new deal with Stafford. The Rams could acquire Rodgers and Adams as a package to replace Stafford and Kupp and stay competitive. Plus, they’d still have their first-round pick to take a QB or fill another need.”

What frustrates me the most is that this could actually work. Deep down, you know it’s true. No offense to Sean McVay, but the league needs to stop giving him nice things. I thought we all agreed Rodgers would end his career in the most miserable way possible, starting nine games for the Tennessee Titans. But this… the Rams?!

Please, Pittsburgh, you’re our only hope. I know it sounds like I’m just pulling lines from Star Wars, but I mean it. They’re our only hope. The idea of Rodgers and Adams tearing it up for a Packers NFC rival, and the nightmare of facing them in the postseason, should be taken much more seriously. Bleacher Report, prepare for a call from my lawyers.
